Since opening our Narrabeen location in 2022, we have partnered with sustainable salons to create a more sustainable and ethical business. We’re fortunate enough to have our salon in one of the most naturally beautiful places in the world, with pristine beaches and incredible nature, the stunning Northern Beaches.

Unfortunately, the hairdressing industry has a long standing issue of excessive waste and can contribute up to 3,000,000kg of waste to landfill every year. Sustainable salons is able to collect and properly recycle all of our waste. Long hair is donated to wigmakers and charitable organizations such as Variety and the Australia Alopecia Areata Foundation (AAAF) to be transformed into stunning wigs fro those suffering from hair loss of all kinds. Hair clippings are made into hair booms to assist cleaning up oil spills, soil treatments to help your plants grow, and even hairy bricks—a sustainable building material that enhances insulation and reduces environmental impact. Metal is sent to recycling plants, and the profits made are donated to oz harvest.

For every $1 collected, Sustainable salons and Oz Harvest is able to feed two unhoused people. Plastic is melted back down and made into combs, glasses, plant pots, dog leashes and more!
